Project Life

I was so excited to get my first Project Life kit yesterday!

I'd never really heard of the company before until I saw someone randomly mention it on instagram. They'd posted a little video of some of their layouts, and I loved the look of them. I've always wanted to start scrapbooking, but it seemed like a massive amount of work and I already have too many hobbies! Project Life seems perfect for me because it combines scrapbooking with a photo album (I'm intending my layouts to be more photo heavy) and I love the idea of keeping record of my life over a year. I'm going to do monthly layouts and I'm so excited to get started - got January and February's photos printed out today!

I decided to go with the Midnight edition and bought the album and core kit but if I'm honest I was actually a little bit disappointed by the core kit. I expected the cards to be made of card but they're paper. Also, everywhere sells them as being double sided which technically they are but on some of the larger cards there are spaces to write, and on one side the card layout will be portrait and on the other side it will be landscape! I was intending to use one card double sided for two layouts (if that makes sense!) but I won't be able to do that now for the ones you write on. Apart from that, I would probably be tempted to buy more core kits in the future if I got them on a special offer or reduced because some of them are just so cute! I think this one will last me a while though.

I'm trying to force myself to clean the house and get some work done before I get started making any layouts, but it's hard! I can't wait to get started!

(Psst: If you're from the UK, I bought my kit from the Hobbycraft website and if you sign up to their mailing list, you'll get 15% off! Plus their Project Life things are reduced at the moment. Gotta love a bargain!)

  2. Oh!! My friend mentioned this to me recently, and I really hadn't a clue what she meant. This is a lovely idea! A great way to capture memories and have something physical to hold onto. Sweet : )

I'll be looking into starting one of these I think!
